I know, I know....
Ok, so I've been 'really' busy lately. So busy I've almost forgotten about my weblog, but thanks be to you who asked where exactly I was.
Currently, I'm in the wild, deep throes of yet another invoice period. I have an assitant now, and she's great, but really, this is her first month. I'm not pampering her, I'm just showing her that it can be done, we just need to be particularly on-top of things. So I'm writing from work, because I've been here for 10.5 hours now and I haven't even stopped for a breather.
Regardless. Things are good. God is blessing as usual. I mentioned my assistant. She's phenomenal. She's a grandmother and she's from the Attawapiskat first nation band. I'm fortunate to have her working with me on this project and the help she has offered so far has been tremendous. Not only that, but I'd like to welcome Brad and Julie to the wonderfully wide, open aired space of Timmins. They moved here maybe two months ago and Val and I have been having a blast just chillin with them whenever we get the chance. Just the other day we went biking at Hershey. That was a good time.
I've had some good quiet time lately too, and that's helpful. It appears my church is finally looking at hiring a youth pastor, and right now I'm not sure if I should be applying to it. Ok, not really. I should be. If it's not what God has in store for me, it's not going to happen. But I don't want to apply out of a sense of necessity, but rather of passion. And my passion for youth ministry these past few months has been pretty low. What a strange hand I've been dealt. I've been coursing through the Pauline Epistles lately and I get to the letters addressed to the church at Thessalonica, and I can't help but notice that work, or employment, or career focus, is encouraged by Paul. So I know I'm not doing wrong by doing what I'm doing now, so long as what I'm doing isn't not what I should be doing. Does that whopping double negative make sense to anyone but me?
My car has been broken since I moved to my new house. That's the only area that isn't being blessed. It seems as though the annointing has passed from my car. The tranny went, and now I'm having a real b-to the-atch of a time getting a properly coded replacement tranny to come in from the southern bad-lands. If I can get two more decent years out of my car, I'll be happy as a pig in mud.
I'm supposed to go to Ottawa on Friday. That'll be nice. The last time I was there I was hitch-hiking back to Huntsville from Quebec City. That was a frosty nite. Actually, I broke my foot the very next day. Anyway, it's my parent's anniversary, so it should be good times had by all.
Anyway, that's what's new on my side of the tracks. Sorry it's been so long. Let's pick this up again.
Shalom.

E-RICH!! What up thug? Glad to see you're making a triumphant return. You are a rare mix of tremendous work ethic, tremendous attitude, spiritual sensitivity and the joy of the Lord. Thanks for the update Erich. Good to see your back blogging - I was wondering in I'd ever see you again in blog-land. Your summary of the ups and downs, indecisions and uncertainties (not to mention car problems) is a lot of what my life is filled with too. Thank God that, in spite of it all, we can sometimes see clearly enough to notice that God is blessing us through it all.
